Samagra Shiksha: Govt increases spending from Rs 28,000 cr to Rs 34,000 cr over year

The government has increased spending on Samagra Shiksha from Rs 28,000 cr in 2017-18 to Rs 34,000 cr in 2018-19 for states/UTs. The Ministry of HRD said out of which Rs 31,000 crore already has been released.
The ministry in a tweet said that this reflects the commitment of Narendramodi government for improving the quality of school education.
In recent times, the government has launched various schemes under Samagra Shiksha scheme — these include fund for setting up library in all schools and hostels for villege girls till class 12.

“A substantial increase of about 20% from Rs 28,000 cr in 2017-18 to Rs 34,000 cr in 2018-19 for States/UTs for #SamagraShiksha, out of which Rs 31,000 cr already released. More to come. This reflects commitment of @narendramodi govt for improving the quality of #SchoolEducation,” the ministry in a tweet said.
