7th Pay Commission: The personnel of Central Armed Paramilitary Forces now will be able to reach their home faster while going on leave or returning to duty, as the government has entitled air travel to these personnel on Srinagar-Delhi, Delhi-Srinagar, Jammu-Srinagar and Srinagar-Jammu sectors. This benefit will be available to all the Central Armed Paramilitary Forces or CAPF personnel.

With this, now constables, head constables, and ASI, who were not eligible earlier, will get the facility. About 7,80,000 CAPF personnel will benefit from this decision. This facility will be available to the CAPF personnel in addition to the existing air courier services. Air courier services are available in all sectors of Jammu and Kashmir. CAPF include Border Security Force (BSF), Assam Rifles (AR), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), National Security Guard (NSG), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

To cut travel time, the government had earlier approve air courier service for CAPF jawans on Delhi-Jammu, Srinagar-Jammu , Jammu-Srinagar and Jammu-Delhi sector. Besides that, CAPF jawants are also provided air support from IAF as and when required.

As some of the areas near India-Pakistan border are not easily accessible, this is the much-needed respite for the jawans who are posted in these areas. Earlier, it would take so many hours to reach the nearest Railway stations to board a train for home. Train journey also takes many days, as most of the personnel posted in the area are from various parts of India. In some cases, it takes four-five days to reach home.
