In a first, Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), under the aegis of NITI Aayog, and US multinational company Adobe today announced a partnership to develop creative skills and spread digital literacy in Atal Tinkering Labs in across the country. Adobe will implement its Digital Disha Program in ATLs and for that it will adopt 100 schools under the initiative. The US company will provide free licenses of Adobe Spark premium to ATLs under Digital Disha Program.
Adobe Digital Disha Programme was launched in schools to bring synergies in technology-based learning and creative thinking. The Union HRD Ministry in a statement said that Adobe Digital Disha Programme will empower students and teachers with new age skills to thrive in the current digital era.
The statement said that it will impart the essential digital skill sets across school children in India. Under the Atal Innovation Mission or AIM, ATLs are being established in more than 5,000 schools across the country to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country, it said.
This will facilitate students of class 6 to class 12 acquire problem solving and innovation skills. Under this initiative, The students will be goven opportunities to develop innovative solutions. They will be provided technologies such as 3D printers, IOT, robotics, miniaturised electronics, and programming. The students will be given the opportunity to “do it yourself kits with support from teachers”.
Initiatives such as the ATL Community Day, Student Innovator Program, Teacher Training Sessions, ATL Marathon, and Tinkerfest, etc. has been take up, the statement said. For encouraging science skills, digital literacy and creativity, AIM has integrated students, teachers, mentors, parents and even the governments at the local and state and levels.
