NIOS D.El.ED programme: The National School of Open Schooling (NIOS) will provide training toin-service elementary teachers. There are 13, 78, 979 untrained in-service teachers have enrolled for the programme. The Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.ED) will be imparted through distance mode.The course will be provided through the online learning platform SWAYAM.
The in-service teachers, who enroll for the course may also access the resources through SWAYAMPRABHA DTH channels. it is expected that the quality of teacher education program, as the government is mulling over 4-year integrated course.
Earlier, Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar had said that the course contents will include gender, inclusive education, technology, yoga and sanitaion. There are now many online resources developed by the government for easy access to resources for free.
The students can also download resources for free from Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing (DIKSHA).
NIOS D.El.ED course: How to take admission:
The NIOS D.El.ED course will be of 9 months duration and there will be 32 credits. The study materials will be provided through digital platforms. For details about the course and course content, a candidate may visit NIOS official website: http://dled.nios.ac.in.
Javadekar recently said that the government was going to launch 4-year integrated B.ED programme. This programme may save a year for the students, as they will get two degrees at the end of the course. Currently, B.ED course is of two years duration.
