Smart India Hackathon 2019 Grand Finale will be held on March 2 and March 3, 2019. Prime Minister will address the Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon (Software) – 2019. The competition will continue non-stop for 36 hours. It will be held at 48 nodal centers across India, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said.The participants have to solve the challenges of disruptive digital technology problems faced by the country.
Problems will be thrown to technology students for innovative solutions during the competition.The students would have the opportunity to create world-class solutions for some of the top companies in the world.
This will help private sector hire the best minds from across the country. This is the national level competition and the students who demonstrate exceptional skill set will get employment opportunities too. SIH-2017 and SIH-2018 were successful in promoting innovation. This year, 20 software projects and 12 hardware projects are being taken forward from SIH- 2018 winners, a HRD Ministry statement said.
During Smart India Hackathon 2018, 340 software problem were taken and a total of 108 winners were awarded cash prizes.
A total of 68 problems were taken up and 31 winners were awarded cash prizes in the hardware edition. Currently, 20 software projects and 12 hardware projects are being taken forward from SIH- 2018 winners.
About 17,400 entries were taken during SIH-2018 from 1 lakh students. This year more than 52,000 entries from over 34,000 teams from over 2 lakh students have been received. This year, the competition is expected to be more intense than the last year’s one.
